Wanderer is inspired of my dreams of travel and adventure. I think we all dream of escape from time to time, especially in the dredges of winter... Snow is piling up outside as I type, and though all the white looks rather pretty I long for the warmth of the sun and the colors of spring. So... I had a bit of fun creating a sunny space in the studio, but I couldn't ignore the cold temperatures so a new cuddly blanket seemed like a brilliant idea.
{ You can make this same snuggly throw in about 10 minutes! It takes 2 yards of Serape Fervor Knit (60" WIDE!!!) and 2 yards of any soft faux fur in the same width. Sew the two pieces right sides together leaving about ten inches open for turning. Turn right sides out and close up your opening, then you're DONE! }
With this line I really sought to compile a collection that felt discovered over time: searched out. I used many images and items from my past, my own little collections... All of the photographs in the Wandering Lands prints were taken over the last 8 years while exploring with my family. Serape Dream is based off some of my very favorite possessions, my vintage Turkish Kilim rugs and the Temple print is a collection of my sketches and embroideries. Also, the Crocheting print is based off a crocheted blanket my mother gave to me.
I hope you that you find these fabrics inspiring and I can't wait to see all that you create with them!!
xoxo April

I’m another one who doesn’t like Instagram and won’t participate there, but I’d love to win the fabric as I need to sew to provide income for my Hubby and me because as seniors we have little in the way of job opportunities. Thank you for the slim chance.

I don’t do instagram, frankly I have only just started reading blogs, and don’t know how to “pin” anything. I also only use one stitch on my very expensive sewing, out of fear and ignorance. Maybe I should get one of my kids to educate me. Thanks for the giveaway, I love your fabrics, and have a carefully curated collection in my stash.

April, Your compilation of tones and colors is wonderful. Love that you shared your inspiration and how you got them, esp the Kilim rug notation. Your throw is perfect with that print and it did create that sunny sun effect you were looking for.. Congratulations and may you continue to enjoy your journey.

PS: I don’t do Instagram either.
