Next up in fabric . . . OBSERVER
Hello and Happy Spring!
I am very excited to be able to finally share my newest fabric collection, Observer, with you. Composed primarily of monochromatic and duotone prints this group is about the noticing and studying of simple elements.
I've always been captivated by the textures and details I find in the world. I am fascinated by the minute patterns found on objects both naturally occurring and man-made. It's that affinity for these special little discoveries, snippets of design, that inspired the prints in this collection. A stone in a garden has its own unique markings. The chipping paint on an old wall cracks in a way that I find mesmerizing. A city's glow when seen from an airplane window at night, draws out a map that is ever changing as lights are turned on and off. . .
I have tried to capture and reproduce these findings in printed form. Yet this is a collection about looking both outward, and inward. Several of the prints, though the textures may be instantly recognizable, also have deeper meanings. They speak about the item observed but also about the observers within each of us.
Observer will be available August 2016. Be sure to check with your favorite independent fabric retailers and ask if they'll be stocking it! I can't wait to see what you create from these fabrics! I'll be sharing more images, inspiration and behind the scenes sewing on my social media accounts so be sure to follow along to see what's coming up. And share your own makes with the hashtags above!
